About Us

The Center for Spiritual Living in Fremont, California is an active and dynamic spiritual community, with a range of activities and services: Our pastor is Dr. Jay Scott Neale.

We are a community of individuals dedicated to our own spiritual awakening. We respect each person's spiritual path as sacred and personal. We believe each of us are destined to discover spiritual truth.

We are an affiliate of the International Centers For Spiritual Living. Our philosophy is based in New Thought, which takes its teachings from such thinkers as Jesus, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ernest Holmes, Buddha, Mohammed, St. Augustine, Aristotle and other great seekers and thinkers.

Our organization is based on teaching individuals "how" to think, rather than "what" to think. We understand the universe as primarily spiritual, manifesting out of the one Divine Life and working under a law of cause and effect. We teach the importance of personal responsibility in choosing the thoughts and behaviors necessary to create the life we desire.

Religious Science can be approached as a science, a philosophy, and a religion. Our beliefs are in harmony with the basic tenets of all the world's great religions.

Our teaching emphasizes the healing of our minds in the present by releasing destructive ideas from the past such as unworthiness, guilt and blame; and affirming positive right action and change for the better, NOW! We recognize God's loving presence in ourselves and in all people, places and things. Religious Science does not claim to have a monopoly on God or the truth, but rather we believe that there are many paths to the one God.

In fulfillment of Our Vision and Our Mission, we are dedicated to creating a spiritual community with an atmosphere of an open heart and open mind.  We are here for YOU to give you the opportunity to experience unfolding spiritual realization; to learn spiritual principles and experience self growth through classes and seminars and other programs; to find spiritual help and loving support in time of need; to build even stronger lives; to find ways for self expression and to give service through participation in this Church; and to be a blessing to yourself and all humanity.

Get acquainted by getting involved.  A simple beginning might be to have coffee or tea in the Social Hall and meet some new people. Sign up for mailings and our monthly newsletter so you know what's happening.  Become aware of the principles and practices of Religious Science through classes, books and tapes, as well as services. Talk to the Ministers or any Practitioner if you have questions and plan to attend one of our three yearly orientation classes.
