About Us A Brief History of the Center for Spiritual Living-Fremont, CA
A Center Near You Fremont, California in the San Francisco Bay Area is the home of the Center for Spiritual Living-Fremont, CA. Founded on his birthday by the newly recognized Rev. Jay Scott Neale and his wife Carol, July 20th, 1975 marked the beginning of a vital center with a history of over 33 years of positive growth. It began its life in the Fremont YMCA and added a second Sunday service three weeks after its beginning. With two services on Sunday morning and a Wednesday evening service the center grew. This dynamic pair opened a small office and bookstore on Peralta Boulevard, and as the congregation grew, the Sunday Services were moved to the auditorium of Irvington High School. Volunteers transported books and materials back and forth every Sunday to provide for this rapidly growing center’s family. With a vision for independence and growth, this husband and wife team, supported by a committed Board of Trustees, purchased a property in Niles Canyon in 1978, that would become the new home for the Center. All services, classes, bookstore and office activities were housed in this facility. It served these new CO-Pastors in the ongoing fulfillment of the vision for the center very well. It was a cozy little center and served to establish the sense of “family” among its members that is still present to this day. However, imagining a rich full experience for their students and members, and with Carol’s dream for a full-time school for children, the vision again expanded towards a larger facility that would hold their ever expanding dream. In 1985, a new property was purchased and the center moved to it’s current location on Blacow Road. The facility, with it’s five buildings and surrounding grounds, house a spacious sanctuary, social hall and kitchen, multi-use rooms for the classes and staff work areas, bookstore, offices and a new Peace Room, all providing the space where the ongoing work begun in 1975 continues to this day. One of the major achievements has been the fulfillment of Dr. Carol’s dream, the creation of a full time preschool and kindergarten known in the community as The Creative Life School. The Center for Spiritual Living-Fremont, CA is a place where people of all ages, faiths, back rounds and beliefs come together to learn, share and grow. We are here for YOU to give you the opportunity to experience unfolding spiritual realization; to learn spiritual principles and experience self-growth through classes and seminars and other programs; to find spiritual help and loving support in time of need; to build even stronger lives; to find ways for self expression and to give service through participation in this Center; and to be a blessing to yourself, family and all humanity. Love is the way.
